		*A Brief History of Hope*


	In January of 1977, approximately 90 families organized Hope Lutheran Church. After nearly a year, a 12.3-acre tract of land became available on Twelve Mile Road (the present site of the church). The congregation purchased the land and the three-bedroom ranch home and machinery shed that was on it.

Following two previous expansions to accommodate membership growth, in 1993, the Strategic Planning Committee recommended expansion of the church facilities. The plan provided for a new sanctuary, with seating for 365 worshippers, a new administrative wing, 7-8 additional classrooms, a 2,500-sq. ft. Family/Youth Center and greatly expanded nursery facilities. This new facility was dedicated on November 23, 1997.
