Hope's Pastor Lays Out a Path for Christian Discipleship

Pastor Brad conducted a 12-week sermon series devoted to the goal of making Christian discipleship"part of the Hope DNA".

At the beginning of the sermon series, Pastor Brad led off with the Vision Statement for Hope:

"We are searching people called to the River of Hope, where we embark upon the journey together as disciples of Jesus Christ.  As we journey, we experience deep waters, rapids, smooth streams, shallow and rocky places, all of which teach us something about faith and life."

And, at the end of the series, Pastor Brad reminded the congregation that Christian discipleship is not about following rules, but should be viewed as an incredible priviledge because we CAN serve God.

In terms of gaining insight from the scriptures, the following was used repeatedly to reinforce the importance of Christian discipleship:

"Lead a life worthly of the calling to which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, making every effort to main the unity of the Spirit in the bond of Peace."  (Eph. 4:1b-3)

As there is a stream running behind Hope, it only seems appropriate to use the word STREAM as an acronym to aid in the development of the discipleship concept.  Make STREAM part of YOUR daily life!
