New Member Orientation

New Member Orientation is held four times a year on a Saturday morning. A continental breakfast will be provided. Although those who are transferring from other Lutheran churches are free to ask for transfer papers to be sent to the church office at any time, everyone who plans to join is required to attend a New Member Orientation before membership.

New member orientation is an essential relationship-building process that will enable you to connect with others who are joining at the same time and interact with staff members and lay leaders of the church.

Letters of invitation will be mailed to those who have been visiting the church or have indicated on the attendance form, that they would like to join. You may also register by filling out the form in the New Members Brochure located at the Welcome Center. Questions about the process of membership can be directed to Pastor Brad. Childcare is available if arrangements are made in advance. Please call the church office with questions,.

Session topics include:

§ What is this church all about? How is it distinctively Lutheran? What expectations do you have of Hope? What do we expect from you?

§ What does it mean to be on a spiritual journey? How can this church help someone grow closer to God through the programs and activities we provide?

§ In what way has God prepared you for service in the church? Through a Life Gift Analysis, we will help you discover the answers to that question. We assume that your membership in our congregation will mean that you not only look for ways in which the Church can bring you the blessings of our Lord, but that you will also find that your membership will afford new opportunities to serve.

§ What does it mean to be a disciple of Jesus Christ in a church like Hope? How can you be a good "steward" of all God has given you? What is God doing in our midst – and how do we understand the future? How can you take part in that vision?
