Description of Hope's Ministries

Our Pastor meets with the leaders of the ministry teams on a regular basis to discuss their challenges in ministry, upcoming events in the congregation, and recruiting new volunteers for programs.  We work closely with "The Yellow Pages," information sheets filled out by new members, which helps us match the needs of the teams with the talents and interests of the volunteers

We currently have seven Ministry Teams:

    1. Worship Support – these are the folks who coordinate ushers, readers, greeters, communion assistants, acolytes, and assisting ministers.  Gloria Webber accepted the call to become the Worship Support Team Leader.

    2. Evangelism/Welcome – this team is in the process of development.  It will provide a bridge between visitors and the church, welcoming them and orienting them to the life of the congregation.  The members of this team will work with me in staffing the leadership of the New Member Orientation class.

    3. Learning – the entire educational ministry of the church falls under this team, to plan, organize, and staff Sunday School for the children and adults of the congregation.

    4. Fellowship – being with other Christians is one of the joys of taking part in congregation life! This team oversees the social activities, planning events to appeal to all ages and groups of people throughout the year.

    5. Service – part of being a disciple of Jesus Christ is reaching out to others.  The Service Team, serves as the eyes and hands of Hope Lutheran Church, scheduling outreach opportunities, planning for the spending of benevolence dollars, and making the church aware of the needs of those around us.

    6. The Hope Connection – this is the heart of Hope.  Jim Paul, the coordinator, works closely with the pastors to invite those who are experiencing various life crises to be connected with one of his team members - with a group of people who are trained for this very special ministry.

    7. Property Team – caring for the property and grounds of Hope falls to this group of people.
