Pastor Lauren Miller joined the Hope staff in August of 2006. Pastor Lauren hails from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and was ordained at her home congregation on Sunday, August 6, 2006.
Pastor Lauren is a graduate of Valparaiso University, where she graduated in 2001 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in theology and humanities. Following her graduation from Valparaiso, Lauren spent one year working for the Lutheran Volunteer Corps (LVC). While with LVC, she served as a food and shelter assistant at Lutheran Community Services in Wilmington, Delaware.
In January of 2006, Lauren and her husband, Terry, were married. Terry is an Episcopal priest who currently serves as Assistant to the Rector at Christ Church Cranbrook, located in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan.
In May of 2006, Lauren graduated from The Lutheran Theological Seminary at Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. During her years as a student at Gettysburg, Lauren served as secretary of the student association, and was a member of a faculty search committee, seminary worship committee and the seminary admissions committee. She has also served as a mentor for a summer theological academy for youth, sponsored by Gettysburg and Philadelphia seminaries. As part of her required field education, Lauren completed a ten-week Clinical Pastoral Education program and a year-long internship at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Kansas City, Missouri.
As Associate Pastor for Discipleship Ministries, Pastor Lauren oversees ministries that impact members of all ages. |
