Reflections of this Year's Zambia Trip - As most of you know, a group of sixteen members and friends of Hope Church traveled to Zambia, Africa in July. The team included four gifted physicians, three amazing nurses, a relentless
rehabilitation specialist, a triage leader par excellence, five tireless builders, a superb team photographer and a pastor. We made the trip as ambassadors of
Orphan Medical Network International (OMNI) and Hope Church. Our mission was to share the good news of Jesus Christ through various acts of caring, praying and reaching out. By all
accounts, the trip was a success. Some of the tangible results of our ministry include:
- Medical care given to nearly 3,000 people.
- Two homes built for orphans in the bush.
- 2,400 pounds of beans distributed to people in the compounds of Ndola, the city in which the medical team spent a significant amount of time.
- Several hundred New Testaments and prayer bracelets distributed to adults and children.
- A school in the Chifubu compound of Ndola purchased for $6,500 U.S. dollars.
- Prayers for healing, restoration and wholeness offered to hundreds of people.
As important as the tangible signs of our
ministry may be, I am convinced that the most significant and lasting impact of our trip will be the friendships that have been established with our Zambian friends. This was the second or third visit to
Zambia for some team members, and others were visiting for the first time. Whatever the case, the seeds of faith, friendship, and trust that were sewn will grow over time and produce abundant
fruit for the work of God's kingdom on earth, as it is in heaven.
It is clear that our congregation's involvement with the work of OMNI in Zambia will continue for years to come. Thank you for your ongoing support of this global ministry, through prayers, financial and
material contributions, and personal involvement.
Hope's mission statement says that the only reason we exist as a congregation is to SEEK, MAKE AND BE DISCIPLES in God's
church, community…AND WORLD. I am thrilled that God is leading us to participate on the global stage, and look forward to future opportunities to work with God's people in Zambia. Your Brother in Christ, Pastor Brad
