BLESSING BOX

What is a Blessing Box?

A Blessing Box is a small free pantry offering non-perishable food (like cereal, canned soup/pasta, granola bars) as well as hygiene items (including shampoo, soap, toothbrushes/toothpaste and toilet paper) to local residents when they need them. Blessing Boxes, or mini free pantries, are located at a variety of houses of worship and other community organizations throughout our area.  Click here to learn more about the network of these mini pantries and where to find one.

What donations do you need for the Blessing Box?

Accepted donations include unexpired/nonperishable food, paper products such as toilet paper and paper towels, full size toiletry items, feminine hygiene products, and cleaning supplies.

How does the Blessing Box get stocked?

Volunteers (individuals or families) are always needed to "adopt" the Blessing Box for one month with the goal to ensure the box is tended to and is restocked as needed using collected donations. Our current volunteer schedule is:

  • May - Alicia Herrle
  • June - Linda Seyler
  • July - Vicky Rose, Reji Musso, and Stephanie Herrle
  • August - Gloria Toth
  • September - Diane Eklov
  • October - Diane Eklov
  • November - Grace Stanczak
  • December - Tom Hash
